Zilker Park, Austin's beloved urban oasis, spans 351 acres of lush greenery near downtown. It’s home to Barton Springs Pool, a refreshing natural spring, and offers access to Lady Bird Lake for kayaking and paddle boarding. Known for hosting events like the Austin City Limits Festival and the Zilker Kite Festival, this park is a hub for recreation, nature, and vibrant local culture.
Zilker Botanical Garden — located on 28 acres nestled within Zilker Metropolitan Park in the heart of downtown Austin, Texas, Zilker Botanical Garden is often called “the jewel in the heart of Austin”. Theme gardens such as the Taniguchi Japanese Garden, Riparian Streambed, and Rose Garden are interconnected with streams, waterfalls and Koi-filled ponds, while the Hartman Prehistoric Garden recreates a Cretaceous habitat filled with plants from the time of the dinosaurs. Featuring heritage live oaks set into a hillside, the Garden offers a lush, shady respite perfect for an urban get-away stroll.
Located within Zilker park is Barton Springs, the central for year-round swimming in Austin. Barton Springs is filled entirely with water from nearby natural springs, mainly from the fourth largest spring in Texas.
All 10 miles of trail are well-maintained year round, with amenities and stopping points along the way. You’ll find water fountains for both people and pups, foot showers, restroom facilities, shady groves, boat launches, and a pedestrian- and cyclist-only bridge that connects the trail over top of Lady Bird Lake. If you take on the entire 10 miles of trail, all of which are beautiful and well kept, you’ll pay homage to the likes of Stevie Ray Vaughan by way of a commemorative statue at Auditorium Shores, cycle through the Austin American-Statesman’s Bat Observation Center (and if you time your ride to be there around sunset between spring and fall, you’ll get a glimpse of the U.S.’s largest urban bat population take flight), or take a breather at Festival Beach.
Overlooking downtown Austin and easily accessible to some of the best attractions including Zilker Park, the recently renovated Barton Creek Square is the city's largest indoor shopping center and top shopping destination for families.

The Contemporary Austin - Laguna Gloria, formerly known as the AMOA-Arthouse at Laguna Gloria, is the former home of Clara Driscoll and site of a 1916 Italianate-style villa on the shores of Lake Austin in Austin, Texas. It was the original home of the Austin Museum of Art and still houses some of its collections.
